LibreAAC application
LibreAAC and LibreAAC for Android are free software licensed under the GNU General Public License version 3 only (GPL-3.0-only).
The application’s software licence does not replace the licences of communication boards, symbols, images, sounds, fonts, or other content opened with it.
Openboards available separately
The public openboards collection preserves additional packages that are not included in the Android application. They can be downloaded and loaded manually, subject to their individual licence conditions.

The current CommuniKate project page states CC BY-NC 4.0. No public statement has established whether that later statement applies to this exact archive, so the preserved copy remains recorded under the catalogue’s CC BY-NC-SA 3.0 grant.

As with CommuniKate 12, check the licence information included with the particular file before redistributing or adapting it. The archive may contain symbols with their own licence records.
Larger OpenAAC variants
Quick Core 84 and 112 and Vocal Flair 84 are preserved in the public openboards collection but are not included in the Android application. They retain the same recorded CC BY 4.0 licence and upstream links as their bundled vocabulary families.

The Android app includes independently licensed, unmodified Open Board Format packages selected from the Open Board Format examples collection.

Embedded media
A board-level licence does not necessarily cover every symbol, image, sound or font in a package. LibreAAC preserves embedded resource licence objects when they are supplied and exposes board and media details in the library.

Open Board Format
LibreAAC uses Open Board Format as its native file format. Format compatibility does not imply endorsement by OpenAAC or any board creator.
Changes to content
The board packages bundled with the current LibreAAC release are recorded as unmodified. If a user edits and redistributes a board, they are responsible for meeting the applicable attribution, ShareAlike, noncommercial, and change indication requirements.
